Alien / Aliens error
[edit]"According to Professor Jefffrey A. Brown, there was a growth of female-led action films in the wake of Alien's success."
This sentence has a few errors. The article is referring to Aliens (with an "s"), not Alien. (see https://www.jstor.org/stable/1225765) Also, Jeffrey should have 2 "f"s rather than 3. 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 (talk) 15:44, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Also, "the T-1000, the films villain," seems to be missing an apostrophe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 (talk) 15:47, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- no, it isn't. Where would an apostrophe go? Do you know what an apostrophe is? It has a hyphen, but that is present and correct? PeachyBum07 (talk) 16:04, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Yep, I do know what an apostrophe is, thanks. Let me write this out in even greater detail for you, since you're struggling: the phrase "the T-1000, the films villain" should be written "the film's villain". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 (talk) 16:55, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- sorry, that's an error on my part I just read it back. PeachyBum07 (talk) 16:57, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
It happens. Looks like that got fixed, but just FYI, those other 2 errors seem to still be there -- the wrong movie title and the misspelling of Jeffrey. Is this the wrong place to note these things? I can't seem to edit this article myself, maybe because I don't have an account. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 (talk) 17:01, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Both these issues are now resolved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EDF0:2F50:F801:E52D:D72D:CAD1 (talk) 18:27, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for identifying these issues, you can't edit this at the moment because it's protected due to the higher traffic brought in by it being on the front page. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 18:30, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
UK film distributor
[edit]Would it be worth discussing that the UK release was by Guild Film Distribution, not Tristar Pictures? Back in the late 1980s/early 1990s, Carolco Pictures had a deal with Guild Film Distribution to distribute their films in the UK. This includes other films like Total Recall, The Doors, Basic Instinct and Chaplin (1992 film)
You will find it all on the BBFC website as a source. Just look under their original cinema release dates.

The Doors https://www.bbfc.co.uk/release/the-doors-q29sbgvjdglvbjpwwc0zmdy1mtc
Basic Instinct https://www.bbfc.co.uk/release/basic-instinct-q29sbgvjdglvbjpwwc0zmjg0ndm
Chaplin https://www.bbfc.co.uk/release/chaplin-q29sbgvjdglvbjpwwc0zmjcwmzi GTAGamer245 (talk) 15:42, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
- It's not something that would be discussed here, it's not a British film. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 16:39, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Star Wars vs Terminator 2
[edit]There appears to be a dispute over whether Terminator 2 surpassed Star Wars upon original release. Box Office Mojo is notoriously unreliable these days, but its last lot of "accurate" figures had Star Wars (1977–1982) at $518.5 million and Terminator 2 (original release) at $517 million. Based on these numbers, Star Wars appears to shade it. However, both of these numbers are slightly down from what was previous reported ($530 million for Star Wars and $519.8 million for Terminator 2). It is also worth noting that the 1982 gross for Star Wars lacks an overseas figure, too, so it's very likely it is getting low-balled. In short, whilst it is certainly possible that Terminator 2 could have shaded Star Wars back in 1991, there is no tangible evidence that it did. Worldwide data is notoriously unreliable for 20th century films, but in the case of the older comparison (530/520) and the revised BOM comparison (518.5/517.0) Star Wars comes out on top both times. T2 is conclusive
[edit]Cameron said that T2 marked the end of his vision for the franchise.
I went ahead and added in the plot section, that John Connor did actually accomplish what was prophesied: leading a resistance (himself, mother, Dyson, and T-800) against the Machines (polymophic T-1000) and destroying Skynet (i.e., Cyberdyne Systems), thus preserving humanity's future. 184.166.97.71 (talk) 20:35, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- The plot section isn't for asides, it's for what happens in the film. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:51, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
